Wellness Monday: The 12-Week Wall (And How to Climb It from the Couch)
They say time flies when you’re having fun. I can officially tell you that time moves a little differently when you’ve been staring at the same four walls from a medical boot for 84 days.
Welcome to Week 12. 🦴✨
Hitting the three-month mark of being non-weight bearing is a mental milestone I wasn’t prepared for. When you add the “Plot Twist” of my recent Fibromyalgia and POTS diagnoses, the ‘all over the place’ feeling can get pretty loud.
The 12-Week Wall
In long-term recovery, there’s a moment where the ‘newness’ of the injury wears off, the help starts to taper, and you’re just… still on the couch. It’s a wall. And this week, I’m climbing it.
How I’m Finding My Wellness Today:
- The Tangible Plan: Even though I run a shop full of both digital resources and physical favorites like shirts and mugs, I am a pen and paper girl at heart. When the Fibro-fog is thick, I need the physical feel of a pen to ground me. My notebook isn’t just a list; it’s my anchor.
- The 1% Win: I’m not looking for big leaps. I’m looking for the 1% wins. Today, that win was just listening to my body this morning and taking extra time to rest my body.
- Accepting the Support: I am still the ‘Grateful Guest.’ My husband and daughters are still the legs of this operation, and part of my wellness is letting go of the guilt of needing them.
A System for Every Style
I know not everyone wants a stack of notebooks cluttering up their recovery space. That’s why I took the exact systems I use in my paper planners and turned them into the Digital Planner available in my store. Whether you need a physical shirt to remind you you’re a warrior or a digital tracker to keep the fog at bay, I’ve curated everything in the shop to help you move Beyond the Label.
Wellness isn’t about being “fixed.” It’s about finding a way to be okay while you’re still in the mend.
