Beyond the Boot: From Catch-All to Command Center

There is a specific kind of music your soul makes the first time you walk across the room in two matching shoes. 👟✨

After 12 weeks of being non-weight bearing, I am officially boot-free. But the biggest milestone wasn’t just the walking—it was the Desk Rescue. For three months, my desk was the ultimate ‘catch-all.’ If it couldn’t be dealt with from the couch, it landed there.

Yesterday, I finally cleared the clutter. I reclaimed my pens and my space. Navigating Fibromyalgia and POTS means that even though I can walk now, I still have to be the CEO of my energy. My desk is no longer a junk pile; it’s my fresh start.

My ‘Out-of-the-Boot’ Essentials:

  • The Hydration Station: Mugs are great, but my tumblers are quickly becoming my lifelines. Since POTS requires constant hydration. As someone who does not care much for water, I am learning to keep a tumbler nearby for my water while I work.
  • The Uniform Shift: I’ve basically lived in PJs for 84 days (unless it was a ‘fancy’ doctor appointment day, which called for my ‘business casual’ leggings and a sweatshirt). Now that I’m back at my desk, I’m leaning into that cozy-but-capable vibe.
  • The Pen Caddy: Re-organizing my pens into their caddy yesterday was therapy for my brain. Seeing those colors ready for action makes the mid-week ‘buffering’ feel much more manageable.

Equipping Your Journey

Whether you’re in your favorite PJs or your ‘going out’ leggings, having the right gear matters. Be sure to keep an eye on the shop for new things being added daily.
