What’s in My Disney Park Bag? A Guide to Staying Comfortable & Magical

When it comes to a day at a Disney park, what you pack in your bag can make or break the experience. This is especially true for me, as a well-planned bag is my secret weapon for managing my energy and staying comfortable throughout the day. I want to enjoy the magic without worrying about my chronic illness, and my park bag is the key to that.

Here is a look at what’s in my bag, organized into a few simple categories to help you pack for your next adventure!

Category 1: The Absolute Must-Haves

Portable Phone Charger:

This is non-negotiable! Between using the Disney app for reservations and taking photos, my phone battery is always on the edge. A portable charger is a lifesaver.

Wallet with ID & Cards:

All the basics. Make sure to clean your wallet out so that you can easily and quickly access all your necessities quickly and efficiently.

Small First-Aid Kit:

I always have a few Band-Aids and some pain reliever for any unexpected issues. I forgot about this last year and my sister-in-law saved the day with hers a few times 😉

Category 2: For My Wellness & Comfort

Reusable Water Bottle:

Staying hydrated is crucial, and it’s easy to refill at water fountains around the park. This is a must for managing my chronic illness. There are filtered water stations throughout each park so this makes it super easy and convenient to fill up on the go!

Snacks:

I always pack some protein bars or nuts to keep my energy up, especially when it’s too hot or I’m too tired to stop for a full meal. This is also essential since I am a diabetic and I need to make sure that my blood sugar stays consistent. You don’t want to be in the middle of a long line, only to have to get out of the line because you your sugar is dropping and you need to refuel quickly!

Hand Sanitizer & Wipes:

A must for cleanliness after touching everything from ride railings to food court tables.

Category 3: The “Just in Case” Extras

A Poncho:

Because Florida weather is unpredictable! It’s much cheaper to pack one than to buy it in the parks. Last year I forgot to get ours before we went, so we ran to Target the day before we went and grabbed some cute Disney themed ones!

Sunglasses:

The Florida sun is no joke! You wanna be able to see everything without having to squint because the sun is too bright. Not to mention that wearing sunglasses protects your eyes from melanoma.

Sunscreen:

Another must-have for protecting my skin. Being a melanoma survivor this is very important to me. I always put sunscreen on before entering the park!
